Fifty Dollar Dynasty

Fifty Dollar Dynasty is rock ‘n’ roll to the soul, coming straight out of Bandera, Texas, the Cowboy Capital of the World. A fan writes, “Each song you hear is a masterpiece to the soul when you take it in . . . start to finish you are taken on a journey.” Their music is classic rock, with elements of soul, alternative rock, and blues that make it as tough and brilliant as a titanium alloy. The sound encompasses a huge constellation of the elements of rock ‘n’ roll—fluid movements, melodious ballads, lyrics with intense clarity of vision, appealing vocals, and energetic, electrifying licks—blended in a way that is distinctly Fifty Dollar Dynasty. Describing their music, one fan touched perfectly on the whole of Dynasty’s sound: “The guitar riffs come from somewhere deep down, the type of riffs you get from living out in the Texas Hill Country and taking life in.” Their new EP, Prisoner, was released in December of 2013. Get to know Fifty Dollar Dynasty and their music.

"In December of 2013 we released our latest album, PRISONER_EP, available on iTunes, Amazon, and most internet music sites. For a listen and links, see our website: www.fiftydollardynasty.net."

popVLTR: You've been making moves in Texas, how'd you get into music? Fifty Dollar Dynasty: Playing music was just a part of life growing up in the Texas Hill Country. Back then, it was all about chilling down at the river, a few guitars and few more beers. The dream of hitting the big time and living on rock n roll was a good one - one that just about everybody has at some point in their lives I suppose. Most people know it’s just a dream, and they move on. We never did. We just refuse to wake up.

popVLTR: Congrats on releasing 'Prisoner', who are some of your influences? Fifty Dollar Dynasty: Steely Dan, Led Zeppellin, STP, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Radiohead, to name a few. Pretty much all the Classic Rock greats. The early 90’s Seattle bands were monumental influences when we first started writing. Now we’re a little older, and those vinyl records that our parents used to hide from their parents have made it into our hands, and well…You just can’t beat the Dan.

popVLTR: What are some of your proudest moments in music? Fifty Dollar Dynasty: In December of 2013 we released our latest album, PRISONER_EP, available on iTunes, Amazon, and most internet music sites. For a listen and links, see our website: www.fiftydollardynasty.net. On June 7, Fifty Dollar Dynasty opened in Austin, Texas for Monte Montgomery. Monte was named one of the “Top 50 All-Time Greatest Guitar Players” by Guitar Player Magazine, he’s been called everything from “guitar-god” to the “answer to the Fermi Paradox”. Monte Montgomery lived up to his reputation!! It was an honor and an absolute blast to open for him in front of a great Austin crowd.

popVLTR: What cool stuff is on the horizon for Fifty Dollar Dynasty? Fifty Dollar Dynasty: The band is working on new music. We will be releasing new songs periodically, and plan to expand PRISONER to an LP.
